My Version of a Healthy Trifle

Please dont laugh , but I always assume that if dessert has fruit in it, its healthy. right?

And its extra good for you if you combine at least 2 of the key food groups.... in this case Dairy and Fruit.
So in reality the only "unhealthy" ingredient in this trifle are the brownies that I cut up and layered on the bottom of my dish?
And topped with fresh strawberries that I mixed with a bit of Splenda and a little water.
And then added a kinda sorta I want to believe its healthy whipped cream that I made with heavy whipping cream ( 2 cups) and some powdered sugar ( 1 cup or to desired thickness) on top.
And to promote more good healthy eating, I added another layer on top and garnished with more strawberries.
Go ahead. Tell me that doesnt look healthy..
I will make a believer out of you too!
PS- Tell me, do you have the same assumption about fruit?

Grateful for~
The ability to work out after I eat "healthy" desserts like this

Waving my light fitting wand

I saw this image today and it reminded me of a house I see every day and each time I look at the light fitting I just wish I could put something else in their beautiful home. Its one exactly like this one here and personally I just dont feel it does the house the justice it deserves. It looks to me as though the designer choose it as it was the fashionable thing to do at the time. Dont get me wrong, I love fashion and I actually think the light fitting would look perfect in the right home, just sometimes I dont think fashion applies to every possible design opportunity.

Its such a lovely home and the people who live in their are just a delight so I actually feel bad every time I look at the light and wish that I could wave my wand and swap it for something else. The home needs some thing fabulous and industrial like a big cluster of different sized glass ball light fittings, hanging together by metal rods. And at night time the lighting feature will look grand and stylish and fit perfectly with the homes aesthetic.

Does anyone else have the same thoughts to me around "fashionable" things and everything having a place? Perhaps im also being a fuss pot... Kellie xx

My Latest Family Room Episode

My Family Room.....
Its the place where housewives from Beverly Hills, New York and  Miami are witnessed being venomous, catty and cruel all in full make-up, Phineas and Ferb doing the most amazing activities to keep my kids entertained and Hoda and Kathy Lee having a cocktail at 10:00 am in the morning, when I am still drinking my hot tea.
The room today
This post is really about the journey of this space and less about the reveal, since I am still putting artwork on the walls and lights back up. Seeing how the room came together, is almost as entertaining as watching last weeks Duck Dynasty.
But probably more exciting then the latest Jerry Springer show, was that this room was not actually designed as a Family room but as a screened porch. Yup, another builder blooper. See, the builder put a subfloor down thinking it was another finished room.
So with the porch openings, it rained one day and the water had no place to go. We decided to forgo the screen porch concept and create a "seasonal room" adding windows, wood burning stove and a few years ago air/heat pumps, since this room originally was not designed to have heat and air.
The room has seen a few makeover episodes during the last 10 years.
Like my sea of cherry stained walls episode.
circa 2003
When I converted it to a Sun room and painted the walls green episode.
circa 2006
Back to a family room without a shag carpet episode.
circa 2009
To our first New Years project of 2013 and painting the walls a creamy yellow/gold color episode.
And this time around, extension ladders were used instead of scaffolding.
Besides, isnt scaffolding for amateurs?
Best episode yet, although Duck Dynasty comes in a close second!
What about you, any house bloopers that you care to share?

Grateful for~
Not breaking any bones and an incredible sense of balance as I climb ladders!

Blue is My No 1 Summer Color

For me would have to be blue, mixed with crispy white and a bit of natural and green. For me, the below just  is summer interior in a picture!
